Accounts Payable Specialist

Simpson Properties Ltd. – Alexandria, VA

Full-Time | In-Office Position | Monday–Friday

Simpson Properties, a locally owned and operated commercial property management firm, is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team. This role plays a key part in maintaining the financial health of the company by ensuring that vendor and contractor invoices are processed and paid accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and contracts
  • Prepare and process payments (checks, ACH, and wire transfers)
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable records
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Communicate with vendors regarding billing questions and payment status
  • Assist with monthly closing procedures and year-end reporting
  • Support internal departments by providing timely financial information

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience (commercial property management experience a plus)
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Jenark or Yardi experience preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
